Estate Planning Bonanza
Since we’ll all be stuck inside this weekend watching the West Coast burn to the ground, I have a fun activity for you.
Make an estate plan!
Making an estate plan (will, power of attorney, advanced health care directive & trust) is one of those pain in the ass adulting things you just need to do.
Making an estate plan is boring and depressing. But since we’re all bored and depressed right now anyway, you probably won’t mind it as much.
If you already have an estate plan, you’re a winner and you can stop reading.
If you haven’t made yours yet, it takes apx. 90 minutes on LegalZoom.
If you’re single it’ll cost $179.
If you’re married, it’ll cost $379.
If you pay a human lawyer to do it, it’ll cost around $3,000.
I’ve had 2 estate attorneys admit to me that LegalZoom is about 90% as good as hiring a real lawyer to do it.
I recently did my estate planning stuff on LegalZoom and it wasn’t as heinous as I anticipated. I’m sure there are several alternatives to LegalZoom online but I’m too lazy to research them. If you know of a better service, please let me know about it.

If you have any questions, I’m 100% unqualified to answer them. I don’t know anything about this kinda stuff. So don’t ask me any follow up questions.
